Melchior, the Wise Man, is depicted upright with closed eyes in a contemplative pose. He wears an ochre-yellow cloak over a cream robe, with gold detailing on the crown and the precious vessel he holds.

This 10 cm statue is carved from precious maple wood. The artisanal finish shows subtle brushstrokes that reveal the wood grain, and the gently rounded facial features reflect the traditional style of the master carvers of Val Gardena.
