This standing dromedary, ready for the journey, is an essential piece to enrich your Nativity scene. The sculpture captures the majesty and calmness of the pack animal, depicted with a meticulously detailed load, symbolizing the gifts brought by the Three Wise Men. The artwork reveals the artisans’ skill in faithfully reproducing nature, a distinctive trait of religious sculpture from Val Gardena.

Every detail is carefully crafted: from the texture of the shaggy fur, which alternates shades of dark brown and ocher, to the richness of the baggage, which includes rolls of grayish-blue fabric and aged “leather” bags. The watchful expression and firm stance on broad hooves, reminiscent of the camel’s stability in the desert, instill a sense of realism and authenticity.

As per tradition, for its sizes ranging from 6 cm to 15 cm, this sculpture is made from maple wood, perfect for its fineness and ability to accommodate details. It is available in precious colored (C), natural (N), or three shades of brown (3G) finishes, all hand-carved and hand-painted by our master sculptors. By choosing the ideal size, you will add a touch of sculptural excellence to your collection.
