First published in1901,The Ancient Scriptures and the Modern Jewis a substantial work of biblical interpretation and religious argument byDavid Baron (18551926), a Jewish-born Christian writer associated with the Hebrew Christian movement in London.

Structured in two parts, the book offers connected studies of key passages from theHebrew Scriptures(Old Testament), presenting them in a continuous, thematic progression and relating them to the authors view of Gods unfolding purpose in history. It also addresses the tensions Baron perceived between ancient biblical texts and the realities of Jewish life in the modern world, making it both a devotional/theological work and a revealinghistorical documentof late-19th/early-20th-century religious debate.
