ALL’S WELL THAT ENDS WELL explores the life of Jacob, revealing a three-dimensional character with whom modern readers can closely identify. Despite that fact that God has spoken to Jacob at Bethel and wrestled with him at Peniel, Jacob had a weak faith. Yet his story offers insights into human behaviour and God’s character that have not changed in thousands of years. The central theme of these sermons, says Kendall, is “letting God love us.” Through God’s dealings with Jacob and his family, Kendall reveals a God who is faithful, loving and just, demonstrating how we can overcome our weaknesses and grow in Christian faith.
